since i bout my 6 its always had a weird clunking noise when i put it in reverse and set of,,, even if i set of very slow it will still do it. it sounds like a diff problem but im not 100% it will make a clunky noise 3-4 times and then when selecting 1st it will do it maybe once and then its fine untill i need to go in reverse again
any idears,
oh and it doesnt like to go into gear from cold either, its a pain in the arse, i have to wait about 1 minute or so and then its fine for the whole day,, any idears on this problem
cheers

Is it like a loud metallic ping ? Sounds as it you were to tap the prop shaft with a spanner or other metal object ??

hour i front, where are you ???

not to sure really mate, my VII used to do a loud ping from the rear propshaft as if it was taking up some slack in the drive train but it done it for 2 years and i never found out what it was.

if the oils in the rear diff havent been changed for a while then you could try doing that if you cant see anything obvious
