What are the BEST pads for the track??

Lots of different pads out there, and will come down to personal preference again, but I need a decent set of track pads still on standard brembo calipers!

I've been looking at a few and doing research, but can't make my mind up??

Don't wana spend a fortune, but don't want cheap crap!!

Orang stuff? Blue stuff? Ferrodo ds 2500/3000??
Carbon tech padgid and whatever elce???

Need some ASAP so any feedback will help!!

The XP8's by Carbotech are a damn good pad for road and track. Not the cheapest tho.

Been using the ferodo ds2500 pads so far and are very good.

I've used the ds2500 in race conditions and I'll just say that I'm changing them to carbontech xp10's next!

Odd had mine round nurburgring and many track days.... Trackdays can be as hard on the car as race conditions.

Then again I have ksports all round.

I killed the brembos on a track day with the ds2500's, the calipers changed colour!!

All ebc stuff I've used is rubbish. Pretty impressed with the ds range ide go for ds3000

I would also be looking for a brake fluid with a higher boiling point than normal if your going on track it can end your day early if you cook the fluid did it with a mr2 after 4 laps of Mallory park and 2 of those were warm up laps lol

General rule is all ebc stuff is rubbish

Racing blue fluid in mine, never had any bother

What did they do then?

Mine have been totally fine, I'd stick with em but will want to go up a notch in future.

IV heard that if they are left sat for long periods (over winter etc),they can actually break up. Mine haven't done though.

By the way, not doubting just really curious

Just don't like constant abuse and I lose pedal feel. After a straight they come back but the inconsistency annoys me a bit.

Spoke to Ross and went for some high temp carbon ones in then end, good price aswell think they were girodisc?? Got some decent fluid aswell as hoses!

It's for a trip to the ring this weekend, didn't want to spend stupid money as not sure what I want to do with the car yet, although I've just thrown about 3k at it in tyres, clutch, suspension ect!!

Didn't want to go all the way and have no brakes after a lap!! Bear in mind I'm not goin balls out like a track day as I want to make it home in 1 piece although the car will be driven quite hard!!

Il let yous know how I get on!!

Any last min advice dds789 as I know uv been a few times?? Roads to avoid ect, Belgium

You'll be fine with those, especially on the nurburgring as it's not overly hard on the brakes.

Track days are totally different to driving the nurburgring unles you have driven the nurburgring a lot.

It's pretty straight forward getting there, sometimes there's traffic sometimes none on the main roads. I would say don't dawdle over there as it can take an age to cover the miles.

Me and my mate would do 80mph all the way on the motorways.

Just show it some respect when you get on there and use your mirrors like mad for the first laps.

Have a good break after each lap, the car will need to cool, and more importantly you will will need to calm down as your nerves and adrenalin will be sky high....... It's a proper buzz!

Don't get drawn into chasing cars that get passed you either, the nurburgring is about knowledge over horsepower.

My first trip I did 1 lap each day. See how you feel if you want more then go for it.
