Anyone if there is difference in the water pump from 4 to an 8???

Ah cool I was advised that the vains on the 8 pump sent the water the opposite way to a 4 pump ?? Basically ive put an 8 engine in my 4 and ive had to use my rear water pipe and stat housing as they where missing ! I had to t piece the pipe from the back of the head but other than that all is ok . Now becase I was advised that that the pump run the opposite way I removed the stat
