waste gate help needed urgent

hi need help adjusting actuator,look at front off the car if i pull the wategate up towards the bonnet is that open or shut,or is it shut down towards the floor.ive still got no boost on this car bought a refurb kit for forge actuator fitting it now do i need to extend the auctuator out or wind it in,thanks dave

The wastegate opens when the arm extends, so it needs to be shorter than the natural rest point of the lever on the turbo. Its usually about 4 or 5mm under tension.
