Hello,

I'm in desperate need of help,

Started the car today and moved it out into the drive so I could fit a set of Ralliart style mirrors.

Car started OK, fitted the mirrors and a set of wind deflectors and all was fine. Locked the car using the key fob and went inside.

Came out to start the car and it failed to unlock with the keyless entry. I had been messing with the windows a fair bit and guess I flattened the battery, opened the car with the key, the alarm started and the car tried to start once but died, battery flat I thought.

Charged it for a couple hours and then connected it all up, and now the keyfob unlock option wont work, unlock the car with the key manually, get in the car and it WILL start but the alarm continues to sound. Have to disconnect the battery again to stop the alarm.

This happened before but charging the battery sorted the issue.

Now the alarm wont stop (unless the battery is diconnected) and the keyfob wont unlock the car (the light on the fob works for both lock and unlock) and the alarm is constant, the car does start but even this doesn't stop the alarm!

HELP!!! Is there anyway I can reset the alarm and get things back to normal?

keyfob light may work but that doesn't meen the fob works. Try changing the battery in the fob

May also be a crap car battery even tho the car starts on it. It may need changing

Hi Mate,

Thanks for your reply, I'm leaving the car on charge at the moment to see if that sorts it, the only thing is that in the manual it says that starting the car should also cancel the alarm and it doesn't :(

Any problems with replacing the battery in the key? ie does it need to be recoded or anything by Mitsubishi?

Thanks again, I just want to stop that damn alarm!

Thank you to you both! The battery in the fob does seem like it might be low according to the way the lights flash on the fob so I've ordered some more so the recoding pdf you sent will be invaluable Wayne'o :)

I've managed to sort the alarm, I checked the bonnet catch and the bonnet and it didnt seem to be properly closed, after a bit of fiddling the bonnet closed properly and straight away I was able to cancel the alarm using the unlock key. Reading the manual for the alarm there is a sensor/catch under there that must be closed or pressed for the alarm to be switched off, must have been this.

Thanks so much for your help guys, I really appreciate it :)

Cobra alarm? Sounds like the battery, but i would really consider upgrading the alarm unit. The cobra one is weak, get yourself a toad ai606 or a nice solid clifford!
