Tyre rub

Hi all, running an e4 on 225/45/17,s at moment but as soon as someone sits in rear seats the outer wall of rear tyres starts rubbing on the lip of the arch when I hit a slight bump in road. Heard a few suggestions of getting lower profile tyres fitted, new adjustable shocks, wheel spacers which will not help the situation at all or even roll the lip on the rear arches. Any input in this matter would be appreciated.

215/40 would be best suited or 215/45 had to roll the arches on my mates Evo 4 as well cos those tyres were fitted to Evo 8 wheels which have a different offset to the standard 4 wheels. We very carefully tapped the arch with a soft mallet but think some of the paint cracked when we done this but it sorted the rubbing issue

hi j got 205 / 45 /17 on my 4 with e6 wheels but 215 / 45 / 17 would be just as good just remember to change all 4 tyres not just the 2 rear's good luck mate .

ps , have you put up any pic's of your car yet ? as i have seen it and its mint :O)

i run 215 40 17's evo 6 wheels no prob what so ever.

Ok cheers for that info fellas. Hopefully pics will be going up this weekend. I think though as soon as I say I bought the car from rsmark some people will know what I have ended up with.

I run 225/45/17 on my 4 every day. ONLY if you load the rear with some weight (2x people or full boot) and corner hard will it rub. my rear arches are rolled though and on tein springs with standard shocks.
