turn indicator problem

I'm new to the forum and would like to ask a question regarding an indicator problem thats driving me mad. The near side rear indicator works , the side and front dont . I've replaced the bulbs and checked the bulb holder and thats ok . I had voltage at the front and still no flash on the bulb . The drivers side works fine . No new equipment has been added to the car other than replacing the negative lead to the battery and all was well . The flasher relay under the dashboard clicks away and seems to be working fine . I've had the car 4 years and this has got me miffed .

Hi and welcome along.

You need to check the polarity on both the bulb holders that seem to be giving problems.

If they are both not working then the relay should be clicking at a fast paced pulse compared to when you indicate right.

If the pulse on the relay is the same for right and left then you have other issues.

Have you checked the terminals for contaminants???

Thanks for the reply , the bulb holder can only go one way on the front indicator , the relay does click at a fast pace when indicating left compared to right and the terminals are clean . A local auto electrician said that these cars have a control box for the indicator circuit and that they could bypass this . I have not heard of this control box and after having asked several local evo and other jap car owners they havn't heard of it either. I really dont want to go this route as experience from other cars have taught me not to chop and change the wiring loom . Any suggestions would be most welcome.

If the relay is clicking fast when indicating left and then slow when indicating right and when the hazards are on, and the holders are also fine, then there is a fault in the wiring somewhere.

How many volts are you reading at the holders?
