turbo question

i took the pipe off that goes from turbo to maf sensor and there is oil inside the pipe, i dont meen its flooded with oil but there is just a little bit along the inside of the pipe.

im guessing the breather pipe coming from the cam cover would spurt a little oil every now and then?

also i had a look at the turbo and its very clean, turns perfectly. should there be any sideways movement in the shaft? im only talking about a little movement, is this normal?

Evo 9 80 series will do you nicely

i had a small breather filter for a while,, but just thought it looked naff after abit, so stuck the hose back on

but i guess at only a few pound each it dont cost much if people fit one and find they dont like it,,

Catch tank between the rocker cover and the inlet before the turbo will help prevent it

Looks like it's a 9 Rob from Av and username so next step would be S205 but you really need to have a rod job done to handle the power or saying that what about an S204

Yh its for a 9 standard lump can take 420 bhp? I'm not looking for 600bhp yet lol looking for upgrade as the car done 48000 now won't to keep her strong and tip top

You should be able to squeeze 420 out of your standard 80 series along with some cams

TBH you have more chance of blowing your bottom end than your turbo, you are better of staying with your standard tubby that spools quicker, otherwise by fitting a bigger turbo you will have more lag

You won't get much better than the standard 80 series. As already said if going bigger you need to to get your Rods done but maybe a tt S204 will make it a little easier but for what it costs and gains you will make, your better just staying standard tubby until you are ready to forge.

You can reach 400bhp with std 80 series turbo on std 9 engine. Pushing that limit tho is a little risky altho plenty have been running like that for years. If your after piece of mind then get the engine FORGED then add a bigger turbo to run 400bhp comfortably and more
Altho at 450bhp+ its more likely your gonna suffer transmission/driveline failure/problems
