transmission whine

hi just bought an evo8 fq300

i was wondering if anyone knew of a common fault or any suggestions,
there is a whine from the transmission/rear diff under acceleration and normal driving conditions. the noise dissapers when i lift off, i have changed the gearbox oil but made it no difference, is it possible to just drain and refill the transfer box and rear diff or does the AYC need to be re-bleed afterwards?
