to buy or not to buy?????

i'm thinking of getting an evo and i've just seen this on pisston heads
it has 90,000 on the clock, induction kit , bov valve.
whats the most common problems arising with 2's and what power sould i expect ?????????????? :razz::razz::razz:

ide say dont bother with that one you will find much better, you missed a lovely evo 3 on mlr for a few grand :razz:

dont think the are able to run much power, 330 i think is about the max unless you get it forged etc but i dont no what parts to use to do this cos the engine could well be different. well it is mounted the other side of the bay

think standard they are around 260bhp unlike the later cars which are 280

no idea what problems they suffer with

like lee said 260 bhp when it was new. But these are very light! No ayc as that came in on the 4 onwards. Engine wouldn't really want to go over 300ish. Piston's and rod's got better with every evo and wouldn't want to push a 4 much than 330 so a 2. . . . . . . but like a said these are light so a 300 bhp one would fly. And no driver's aid's so a real driver's car you could say. Hope this help's. Nick

a friend of mine had one and i dont know what was done engine-wise but it was almost as quick as my old evo 4 which was boostin at 1.1 bar

no worries, yeah that look's nice and cheap! My 4 does alright with my mate's 7 which is running 50 or more bhp. Just due to lightest. Plus he's has got a couple of stone on me.lol.

Clocks showing 89k KM and Docs to prove conversion. Done just shy of 60k miles.
Taxed until 30/4/2011
MOT until 28/4/2011

New ACT 6 Puk Clutch rated for over 400bhp/400ftlb. (fitted approx 1500 miles ago)

300hp/300lbft approx

The car is in fantastic condition for it's age, however it is 18 years old so it isn't perfect. Few pics, not the best as it's been tucked up in the garage for months! I will take some more as required.

2000 but if i wait a little bit longer and keep saving then my budget will go up i was just browsing and saw the potential of the 2 and thought it could be a bargain lol
