Hi there! another quick question for u all!

My evo 6 makes a ticking noise every now and again. sounds a bit like a tapit but it comes and goes even when engine is at running temp.

Any ideas??

Thats exactly what it is. A set of 3mm lash adjusters will sort it

you could take out the ones you have at the moment and then clean with diesel as that should help and save some money too

+1, Took mine out when i did the timing belt and cleaned them through and cleared the ticking, saves the spending until absolutely necessary!

did you change for 3mm ones? is the ticking definately coming from the lifters? do you have high lift cams in? have you uprated the valve springs?

Mine did this and I panicked and my car has spent over a week at the garage. A flush and service had been done and I'm picking up the car later to drive it and hope the noise gets better or its new lashes for me if you can just replace and yprate anyways to 3mm

well basicly my evo is ruining stock . no i just change them into original still making noise ..yea its sound from the head engine .usually in the morning when i start my car it doent make any noise but after few minute its back ticking . i notice that during the lifters was remove i saw my cam caps one of it was scrached but i intended to still use it. do i need to replaced them? the machanics told me to overhaul the engine check the internal but then i just though this was just a lifter, what should i do? my fren told me just buy a second hand complete head and just replace it.. am ruining out of ideas. i did bring to a specialist pro shop they said the same its coming out form the top. any one has an idea? thanks

some lifters are just noisey I would rebuild an engine because of it. whats your oil level like?, as said do you have a oil pressure gauge? whats it reading,
