Taxing evo v

Quick question , i rang dvla today to find out where my log book is and they told me because my car was inported in 2005 i have the pay 260 for 6 months tax even though its a 1998 car is that correct?

Cheers guys i couldnt belive it when he said it to me i wouldnt mind the old tax disc in the car sais 143 for 6 months!
Ill tax it soon as log book comes and see

Agreed!! Be careful now lads as D.V.L.A are changing the Goal posts daily! You may find because the car is REGISTERED AFTER MARCH 2001 and BEFORE MARCH 2006 in the UK they can do as a they like! Thank yourself lucky it isn't registered after March 2006! But I would say it should be £143.50 for 6 months and £260 for 12 months as I believe the next step up ie after march 2006 its £490 for 12 months!

But rememberD.V.L.A are closing all local offices after 31st December this year hence the real reason behind getting shut of the tax disc!!
