What Nissan? S-body, Skyline, etc? Also, depends what kind of info you are looking for from them. A lot of the general owners club will be useless if you want to learn about mapping the cars in question, but for general mechanical information there are a few good ones, depending on the car/forum.

stick with the evo and get yourself a fishing rod for your spare time....much more relaxing :)

Tell me about it!! Anything to do with ECU's, mapping, boost controllers or car wiring usually results in me getting phone call, and put it this way, I bought a tool for doing my tappets 10 months ago....they are still noisey as f***!

I don't fish mate. :p Was just saying it has to be more relaxing than all the stuff I do. I don't have time for fishing, got 1001 things to do. Actually starting a wiring loom relocation on a friends car tonight, chopping the whole loom in half, relocating it out of the wheel arch, through the engine bay, then joining it all back together. Fun times!

lol, I'll try not to mate! Got a new one last night too! £300 lab grade solder station, she's a beaut!! :p

i love wiring

I don't mind it, but prefer designing circuits in the likes of OrCAD, etc. Wiring it too easy & boring, give me more of a challange. :p I am an Electronics Engineer tho, so kind of make sense. Wiring is childs play.

Anyway, got the loom unhooked from under the wheel arch, chopped in half and fed into the bay, need to get different grades of wire to extend it a bit, then onto soldering & heatshinking it all together.

lol, I do have a cheap mains powered one too that I will most likely be using on this car, but I do a lot of soldering on circuit boards, and my old £100 station packed in after just over a year of use. Kept thinking the tip was not connected and going cold in the middle of working on stuff.

So been wanting this beast since I saw it online while I was at uni, finally got an excuse (and the funds) to buy it, so I did.

Fully temperature controled, heats up in 7 seconds, cools down just as quick, has standby modes, auto shut down, fume extractor add-on, ESD protection, a seperate add on can be purchased to connect to your PC via USB for firmware updates and monitoring tip temperature, etc, etc. Should last me until I'm old & gray. Like I said, it's proper lab grade kit. Thought I might as well get some nice kit. Been soldering since I was like 12/13, so after 10 years of basic plug-in irons and 1 reasonable solder station I got myself a proper solder station that should out live me.

It is one tool I can not live without to be honest, and my workshop is based around it. Also got a good gas powered one that has served me well too. That one was also quite expensive, but not 3-digits.
