ok excuse me if this is a stupid question, car is a evo5 bone stock apart from a k&n drop in filter.. decat.. turbosmart bov (50/50) car is abit too "quiet" for my taste.

so finally the question, can I just swap the muffler without hurting performance? or will this need a remap? tried keeping the car as stock as possible since where I live there's sadly no awd dyno's I dont know if I'm pushing it as is with my mods.

If any1 can help me out would be great!

cheers lads,

I would of said the part of exhaust that will make a noticeable sound difference but make the least difference and probably wouldn't require a map would be a backbox.

If you are fitting a full exhaust I.e bigger bore you will need it to be checked and maybe mapped

ok so I removed the stock muffler and replaced it with an ractive or something like that.. got a nice purr going on which I liked finally it's not that silent anymore but to my surprise I expected way more.. (In car lets say its an 25 to 30% louder than stock)

It's still got the silencer and resonator though.. a friend told me the resonator is the culprit here and I should remove this to really have a good sounding system but IDK don't want to mess with it too much lol
