Ok well been offered two evo 4's and don't know which to choose from
One has a evo 6 engine and box 6 ecu otherwise standard

Other has evo 5 engine a hrs garage evo cyber ecu paddle clutch rota wheels, all diff oils have been changed, de cat scorpian exhaust,

The second seems abit more maintained with more bits on, 2nd would work out 2-300 quid cheaper after cost of getting it back etc

Only thing is stopping me going for the 2nd is the fact first one had a 6 engine and box in it, but it's not going to get tuned through the roof or anything,

Just want somthing with some decent power that can be used.

Any thoughts ?

I'd be going for the most maintained, and it has the bits your only gonna add in the near future. Unless you want to do it all yourself.

Scorpion exhausts are a decent £500 new.

Just get your knowledge up on engine codes and make sure you check them.

Very minimal differences over the 6 and 5 engines (can't rod job a 5 engine, although rod jobs are not the way to go anyway)

Any info on the mileage of the engines installed would be good to know too.

I am leaning towards the 2nd one, as like like you say it's got bits if want for it already there, when you say rod job ? Is that update the rods from a newer model or change such ?

That hrs garage ecu is it somthing that most company's are able to remap ?
Upgraded injectors it has as well, not sure make etc

Thanks

Go on condition and how it's been maintained.

Rust underneath is a big one to watch out for too, ask for pics of under the cars. Most enthusiast owners are fully aware this question is asked and will be proud to say its in good condition under the car.

If they don't know then its time for you to start checking for severe rust.

I'd imagine that its able to be mapped, hence the change to it.

Rod job is a way to strengthen the engine to get it to cope with more power.

The 4/5/6 models need it to cope with the 400+ mark. But it's one of those mods that's a bit of a "cutting corners" type.

My car is a 5 which is standard as far as I know running 380bhp ish and so far has been fine for a couple nurburgring trips and a good few trackdays :D

I think 350hp eara is all I want, I plan to half strip and do the odd hill climb/track day.

Where do they rust normally ?

Is 350hp quick ?

Mines fully stripped, well for an amateur lol.

Goes really really well to be honest.

Chassis legs go which is the major problem, have a search on here, google and mlr you'll get loads of info.

I think, 350-380 and great suspension mods you'll have a right laugh.
