strut brace fitting

Hi guys is there a correct procedure for fitting a front 3 point upper strut brace to an evo 5. I have test fitted the brace between the towers and its fine there but the bulkhead wont get close. looks like it needs to go back an inch. but the boltholes line up ok. or have I bought the wrong brace. thanks

Have you got any spacers or anything with it? as they should fit straight in as unbolt the old one and in with the new. There shouldn't be any torsion on it, seems like you might have the wrong brace but which one I haven't got a clue

thought that myself, but the 4/5/6 should fit and the later cars are braced in a different bulkhead position. I think

What make is it and is it new or secondhand maybe there is osmething missing from it?

Yeh, they're bit the best fitting things, you need to bolt it up to get it under tension.
