To do a proper stroker engine you would need

Stroker Pistons
I beam rods
New Crankshaft
New bearings
ARP head/main studs
Full gasket set
New oil pump
Torque plate hone and deck engine block
Clerance block for extra stroke
Gap piston rings
Reface cylinder head
5 oil filters for running in
25lts of running in oil

To do a stroker motor we charge 6.5k + vat inc all machine work

I got most of my parts from Ross W and in the end it cost me about 2.5k and that was for 1000bhp rods and pistons, knife end crank, acl bearings arp studs (main and head),full engine gasket set. machine work done at Anderson race enignes, then I built it myself :) used millers oil for running in, and very happy with the results.

Oh deary me!!!

The thing that you have to watch out for (or get double checked with the builder) when you are being quoted cheap and cheerful prices is; will the builder stand by his work and if so, what sort of after sales/build service will be applicable and for what sort of period.

The last I heard, Norris was doing a budget Stroker Kit which is supposed to be capable of around 600BHP.

I think you need to ring around and get quotes buddy, like Jamie has suggested already! ;)

Keep us posted on who offers you what etc.

I wasn't slagging you off but wondered what the extra was for, especially as not all the parts were listed the earlier post as this is what I had and rough prices

Wiesco pistons, BC Pro I rods, knite edge crank £1500
ACL bearings £120
ARP main and head studs £160
MR head gasket £45
block rebore, deck and hone £180
Head decoked, skimmed, replace 2 valve guides £120
Kelford cams ( already had ) £450
Piper pulleys (already had ) £100
Reused oil pump (as only done 25k) £245
Balance removal kit £60
Full engine gasket set £250
Gates timing belt £40
Tensioner £120
oil filter + oil £50 x 3
ok so parts ~= £3550

Remap (did it myself) but say £500
and it took about 25 to pull apart and put back together and back in the car

so that equates to ~ £120 an hour ;)
i'm defo in the wrong business

It can't be that bad a price as I have done 3 stroker engines since January and not all of them are local to us :)

So basically And, what you are saying is that your build, including the mapping side of things equated to a total of £4000???

When was this carried out???

a lot less that that
this is what I needed to get,

Wiesco pistons, BC Pro I rods, knite edge crank £1500
ACL bearings £120
ARP main and head studs £160
MR head gasket £45
block rebore, deck and hone £180
Head decoked, skimmed, replace 2 valve guides £120
Balance removal kit £60
Full engine gasket set £250
Gates timing belt £40
RC 1000 injectors £285
== £2735

the rest of the bits I'd fitted to the car on previously (cams, pulleys, fuel pump etc)

then the build time and remapping running in etc didn't cost me anyting :)
plus I sold the original parts I didn't want and got some money back :)
