strange tapping! !!

Hi peeps anyone heard of this I had a strange tapping from my 8 engine that went when you revved up I thought it would be hydraulic but turns out its my water pump pulley ?? On inspection I noticed that it had cracked in a couple of places anyone heard of this??

it wasn't an evo but similar happened on my older car, mine turned out to be loose belt it was flapping at lower rev. never thought of it as you would think it's only a belt , revv up it ges away. taught up and it had stopped the tapping... strange

Well changed the pulley which turned out to have4 cracks in it but this did not solve the problem removed the aux belt and it stopped!!! Any ideas????

Turn the pulleys by hand without the belt on....you should feel the bad one
