Static rev limiter 'launch control'

Hi guys as above the iter week for the first time in my 8 i tried a few times to 'launch' my evo, this entailed me holding revs to around 5k and dumping clutch as instructed by my evo buddy, anyway to do this I obviously didn't give it full throttle untill the clutch was depressed... So now for the weird bit.... I believed my 8 to be standard and sure enough it all looks standard under the hood big last night whilst stationary at the lights next to my mate in a 350z we got into a little 'revving' sport ... Mine was in first gear anyway with clutch down and tho is the first time I've floored it whilst in gear ... It went to 5k and just bounced there .... Does this in insinuate the mapping on my car is not standard? It doesn't feel overly quick but then this is my first evo an on paper it's only 260bhp .. My mate has an 409bhp mr and we have had a few goes there ain't much in it dodnt know if this means mines been mapped already?

it sounds as though you own one of the cars from fast and furious

Erm it pulls from about 3k all the way up to 8k when it hits the limiter
