Hi, I rebuilt my lads 8 a while ago, after he shoved a rod through the block. It was quite successful as he did a 13.6 at 104 mph at Pod (first time ever down strip). But of course thats not quick enough, so he decides to stick a pair of cams in--himself! To cut a long story short, hes managed to snap off a piece of 8mm threaded bar he used instead of the correct timing belt tension bar. The question is this, can the piece of bar stay in there, or can it do any damage if it falls--my lad assures me that its wedged in tight.? Thanks

Is the tensioner working as it should, my worry would be that it's holding it off. Also are you sure the M8 thread was the correct pitch? bear in mind Jap stuff uses metric fine pitch on most of the nuts and bolts on the car from M8 upward I think
