Hello peeps, QuietOne here from Surrey and I am currently saving up for an EVO VIII. Not sure which one to get as yet but I have always wanted an EVO and I love the look of the EVO VIII's.

So soon I will be a proud owner of an EVO. You don't have to answer this seeing as it's my first post but what should I look out for when viewing and test driving EVO's?

Many thanks.

QO.

Thanks mart, I have owned a 1.6 Astra from when I passed my test 5 years ago and to be honest I thought the insurance would be more than I was quoted so it has motivated me even more to get one.

Never but I know you have to let them warm up properly first and let the engine idle for a while so the turbo cools before switching the engine off. Unless you are referring to something else?

i am talking about going from a 1.6 120bhp to a 2.0 280bhp+ :wtf: depending what you end up buying... be CAREFUL... :whistling::disgusted:

Lol good point. I will be careful as it will be my pride and joy. I have driven my mate's Scooby a lot and my Dad's 300ZX. The quote I got was for a FQ340

I'm sorry, I'll never say that curse word again, Please don't ban me D: lol

Anyway, what should I look out for when getting an EVO VIII? What are the common problems with them?

the usual with any car. also the ayc! which there is a post about it on this forum. type it in the search tab/bar. rot, damage, history, smoking on cold, leaks, oil, water and noises coming from gear box and drive chain, transfer box!

Welcome along mate, if your going for a VIII and worried about insurance cost depending on what power and mods you want, why dont you consider a 260/GSR, lowest spec VIII Mitsubishi made, and more suitable for a family. but that doesn't mean to say they are crap like everyone will, still can be modded just like them all.

anyway good luck. :)
