Slight problem, help appreciated

Hi guys, new here still working out how to work the site.

Right the problem I have with my Evo 4....
If I'm driving at 50 for arguments sake and in 4th or 5th gear and I put my foot to the board it spools up say ten miles and hour then I think the dump valve is dumping and I get a loud bang and jolt and I have to let off half way on the accelerator to keep pulling, I can't put my foot to the board,

If I go through the gears with my foot fully down it doesn't happen, well it still occurs now and then in 4th and 5th

Any hell or advise would be much appreciated guys

My car was doing that when I put a filter
On and it can arond the fillter was to small

So it was fine until you fitted a filter and removed the std box!!

Boost/fuel cut
You can drive through it if you drive on the throttle. But if you plant the throttle it boost cuts.
Correct?

Rsv rob yes that's what's happening,
This is my second Evo now I only bought this one Saturday,

So check if I've standard box on it or boost leaks?

Fitting the filter will increase air flow and as such boost. The ecu is reading this and causing boost cut.
I would still check for boost leaks or a sticky actuator tho.

As what rob has said increased airflow will be causing fuel cut, you'll need fuel cut limit raising or ideally a remap to sort, drop me a call if this is something I can help you with, thanks
