hi guy,s i recently got myself an 04 evo8 , mint car and i love it , but every now and then , if say ime in 3rd gear , going onto the motorway , and i give it some hard throttle , it seems to have a slight miss or chug , just wondered if any one of you guy,s has had the same problem ? . could it just be a dodgy tank of fuel ? , i use v-power .

Hi Mate,
Sorry to get back to you so late.

The problem that you have is not fuel related at all.

I suspect that you need to change your spark plugs or check your coil pack as it may be arking. What this means basically is that you either have a suspect coil pack or, where your leeds go into the engine head, one or more leads are slit or split and the spark in channeling side wards aswell as to the plug(s),electricity always tries to find the shortest connection possible.

These are the tried and tested manual diagnostic methods as they are the cheapest possible to carry out and nine times out of ten the issue is cured.

You can do all of these checks by yourself so have a go.

If plugs look slightly cooked, don't buy new ones just yet, wire brush them and pop them back in and save yourself some money.

Get back to us right here and let us know how you got on please.

El

£80:eek:

glad it sorted your issue though

for future reference though get yourself some NGK bpr7es plugs or if your running more boost than standard then go for the bpr8es

they cost about £2.50 each :D
