Hi all, got a Evo 8 with recent new up rated discs and pads and under braking the steering wheel is shuddering. I suspect it's warped discs?
Anyone else experienced this or is there something else it could be?

When the disks where fitted did you make sure it was nice and clean on the face of the hubs before fitting them ?

If they was clean and you are getting it i would then be looking at warped disks you can get a dial gauge and check the runout on them

If these were cheap vented discs from ebay they are only evo blanks that machine to add grooves or x-drilled and totally useless as i have changed a lot of these for people in the past not long after fitting them. Surfaces should of been cleaned with brake cleaner and copper grease used on the pads. I have wrapped EBC, Pagid and Mintex Discs before and even welded EBC yellow pads to the disc under heavy braking. I have found Brembo Competition Pads 1334, Ferodo DS2500 a very good pad.

Pad deposits can cause this or poor bedding in. Your supposed to take it real steady on new discs so they heat cycle properly :)

They were newly fitted just before I bought the car. The guy I bought it off didn't do things by half so I would like to assume they are fairly decent discs & pads. What's stumps me is I can take it out one day and she'll shudder then others days and no sign of anything?
Any recommendations on s**t hot discs to get? Will a cheaper pad increase discs temp leading towards a warped disc?

I had this problem before and after a while dissapeared ? grooved discs can cause this with the air trying to escape if you press harder does it stop?

ive got an Evo X and its shuddering bad now under braking. Someone said i should get a new set of pads and discs for the front. They look ok to me from the outside! seems a bit extreme?!
whats the best thing to do at a reasonable price?
