Well the obvious answer is yes!!
but i need to think more about it and i'm hoping for your guys opinions!

i hope to have a budget of 5k but that wont be until im 21,

and that will be for an evo 4-5 with a few mods,

currently i drive this :

1.3 Turbo with 170bhp and weighs 800kg's

So the deciding factors are... MPG! i currently get 30MPG at a push, just wondering what im realistically going to get from an evo 4-5 with a few mods

i somtimes do 200 miles on the motorway to visit family so i would like to know whats achieveable on a long run

Also how much are tyres as for my current car they are 30 quid for toyo proxies :p

Thanks for reading and any answers would be appreciated, Cheers!

Think about the running costs and maintaining costs, you will get problems like things breaking and things going wrong...for tyres you looking at £100 each as you can't really put cheap shit on evo ( they need good tyres to get the best out of the car )

just dont but the first you see, make sure you check underneath as they like to go very rusty and rot :)

Ive got a evo 4 and starlet gt. I get 40mpg from the starlet and just over 20 from the evo. Bits are more expensive. The insurance will probably be nearly double. As said tyres will be at least double. Modifying is much more expensive.

That said it is DEFINATLEY worth it.

Depends totally on how you drive it.

Cheers for all the replys, Round where i live we dont get any traffic, But i also want to keep a clean licence so most of the time its just pottering about with some fun when its safe to :p

was hoping for maybe 25MPG on the motorway is that achieveable?

I know it sounds worrying about MPG i shoudnt really get an EVO lol but i dont drive many miles a month, i just don't want it to cost loads of money to visit the family everytime i go :p also money on petrol in an evo could be seen as well spent fun

I have never checked what I do mpg wise. And don't really want to check !

It's not too bad to run a evo if you didn't have a modifying bug. But once it hits it takes over so running is nothing compared to what you would spend on the car modifying.

I bought mine at 20, and spent a ridiculous amount of money in my eyes on my evo in the last 3 years, but compared to some it's pennies. Depends how far you want to go :)

i've had my starlet for nearly 2 years, and so far ive only spent 150 quid on some 2nd hand alloys, and bought a 70 quid steering wheel :p

proud to be bought not built... saves me alot of money

here is the spec of my starlet

Blitz Decat

AVC-R Boost Controller

HKS SSVQ

HKS FCD

Fuel Pressure Regualtor

HKS Actuator (0.8Bar)

HKS Silent-Hi Power Zaust

Braided Hoses

Magnecor Leads

3 Pod Guage on dash

Front Mount Intercooler

Relocated Air Filter

Front Mount Intercooler

All i'd like to do is buy her a set of coilies :p

With an evo you can buy parts easy for them and easy to buy tuning parts where this is more of an issue to buy tuning parts for your pulsar. Like every car if you service it regularly with decent quality oils it will serve you well and you like not get another road car that handles as well, has this performance as you have with an E5 /6 for a 12-14 year old car and within your budget.

I reckonise the car?! Where you from?
I'm from west Sussex - previous owner was from gloustershire, they are pretty rare now, I've not seen a single gt turbo in over a year, there are roughly 30 for sale on piston heads so shows how rare they are getting :(
