hi, my car is an evo 8 260 with
3" full system exhaust fully decatted
apexi intake (the one with the chrome heat shield...)
evo 9 recirc valve to cope with the higher boost

im planning on a trip to the tuners soon to have walbro pump, 3 port boost and a remap to suit and im just wondering is there anything else i should do to the car before making this trip or is anything else just going to be pointless without more expensive things like bigger intercooler and agressive cams etc.??
like would it be pointless doing things like manifold, throttle body, turbo elbow etc.....
thanks :)

Proper race manifold do cost a fortune all mine has is uprated fuel pump autronic ecu evo 9 turbo that's all I can do really unless it's being forged ?

Or a rod conversion is not a bad route to go down up to 500 or 520 bhp

Unless you can find a set of MR cams and possibly a MR turbo then not worth doing anything else IMO.

Even then, the turbo isn't a massive restriction if you just change the cams. I mapped a 260 a while ago with a std turbo and a set of HKS 272 cams in it and it made 400bhp on 2 different rolling roads.

As a general rule you should see 370-380.

As mentioned up can uprate other stuff but you will be talking large sums of cash.

You could consider the turbo elbow for another 80 quid but doubt that will see you to much more bhp but if you doing the xhaust anyway might as well as can be a little restrictive.

standard manifold is fine up to 400-420bhp.

I have a standard one that has been polished and ported waiting to go on which is a hell of a lot cheaper than a performance tubular mani which you will be looking at 700quid to a grand for a decent reliably one not prone to cracking!

Be good to see a few graphs from the rollers when you have it done :)

Hi thanks for the reply, i have thought about the turbo elbow before actually! Might be worth it if its only like £80 looks like its fairly easy to swap over too!
Yeah ill be sure to post when ive had it all done! Should be within a couple of months i hope! Gotta get an annoying rattle noise sorted first!!!
