Hi all!, I'm an evo virgin and new to forums, I pick up my new Evo 9 next Saturday! I thought I'd join the forum to gain some knowledge on everything Evo!

I'm a proper petrolhead and have owned many quick cars over the years, such Lotus Elise/Exige, TVR Tamora and T350, as well as an M3, Type R Civic and the car of the less fortunate, an Impreza!

Just wondered if anyone could help me determine the model of my Evo 9 that I pick up next Saturday.

It's registered and Hpi-ed as a Fq-300! However it doesn't have Fq badges or interior number plack! Having a lancer evolution plack instead. To my limited knowledge all other exterior parts are Fq! Such as spoiler,bumper,diffuser and Brembo brakes and calipers. It's got a few extra mods all professionally fitted, Apexi filter, de-cat HKS exhaust, turbo timer, blow off upgrade along with ecu remap. Its running between 350-360bhp, plenty for me and not forgetting the Mrs!

I'm purchasing it from a Mitsubishi main dealer and to their knowledge, some Evo 9's were built as Fq-300's but not included in the limited number recorded??

Hope anyone can shed any light on the topic and provide me with some knowledge and info!

Welcome along pal. As lee has already posted the things too look out for, easiest way to check is with chassis number, the plaque should be there with a number on, mine has I dnt think mitsi would have been so lazy as to not include one but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the reply craigus!! It's looking like a 9 GSR with a bunch of stage 1 mods!, went down have another goosey at it today! Couldn't find out brand of exhaust!, but identified apexi filter, apexi AVCR timer, hard pipe kit, but not sure,what that is?? Could anyone enlighten me?? Also receipts for remap and fuel pump upgrade!!

Yh sounds right mate that's all stage one parts minus the decat. An fq would have a super drager exhaust and should be stamped on the exhaust tip. You might want to get them to re think the price if it's a far and not an fq, tell them upgrades mean nothin to an authorised dealer if anything it devalues the car but be all and end all gsr is every bit as good with the staged mods as an fq just not as exclusive (not that they are exclusive in uk) does the car have a link online

Thanks for the reponse again craigus and gaz! Defo a GSR, sorry got no picks, already been taken off mitsi dealers site! Forgot to mention also got full decat!. So stage 1 complete, any ideas on resultant power gain?? Not too worried about price cause i took ,my lady and she's a right facey bitch!, we got loads chucked in with the deal including 12 months Mitsubishi warranty! Been view it twice and it's well tidy!!

I'd say depending on the boost level your around 380-400 bhp nice useable power.
