Hello all,

Anyone got any tips for freeing a seized piston I have come across whilst 'trying' to change the discs and pads on my Elgrand?

Managed to remove the caliper and caliper bracket off the disc, got one piston back in it's housing using a clamp, but the other sucker aint having none of it :hm:

Any tips would be fab, cheers guys (and gals)

Andy :D

Have you tried brake cleaner?
Slight tapping with hammer while tightening the clamp?

if it wont go back try making it come out first , using the power of the foot brake ?

also did you clamp the hose and open the bleed nipple ?? , as could be a faulty hose stopping the fluid returning to the master cylinder ??

also try lifting the dust seal around the piston and look for rust /corrosion as you really dont want to force the piston back if there is any as it will probably kill the seal / and either leak or even stick even harder in the caliper .

:O)
