hey guys im a newbie as you know ive seen a very smart looking evo 4 however i need your lots advice if u think its a yay or a no ??

here is the spec list

The Lancer Evo IV, such as this is a rally derived car. Designed with the rallying arena in mind the earlier Evos are high performance cars built strong, powerful, fast and with four wheel drive to provide unrivalled handling and traction. It is this recipe that makes them such a devastatingly effective rally and road weapon.

The Evolution IV’s power comes from a 2 litre, 16 valve, DOHC turbocharged unit this is twined with a five speed transmission. The four wheel drive system incorporates active yaw control (AYC) this allows for increase control in high speed cornering by monitoring lateral g-forces, grip and power. The standard 0-60mph time for this car 4.4 seconds.

As can be seen from details below, on this Evolution IV many parts have been up rated to those from later models and also practical modifications have been made all to increase the cars handling, braking and performance.

The car always starts runs and drives very well. As with all Evo IV’s it is an import, all the changes made for it to pass the SVA test for use on UK roads were completed to a very high standard (such as the rear fog light addition). When the car was first purchased in Japan many Ralliart optional extras were chosen such as the dials, the gear knob and braided brake lines which just adds something to the car and sets it apart.

The car has all the usual Evolution IV GSR features and many others:

· 2.0 4G63 turbocharged 16 valve DOHC

The above performance modifications result in an impressive 320bhp whilst still keeping the reliability and functionality you would expect from this iconic Mitsubishi road rally car.

· Power steering, Air con and Alternator Belts

· Fuel filter

The car has been very well looked after by me and its previous owners, this is clear to see by not only the condition of the car but also the massive collection of receipts back to import date, a collection of MOT certificates and a book detailing the modifications and their cost. The car has been religiously serviced every 4000 miles and is always been run on Shell V-Power 98 octane fuel (this is advised but not required). The car will also come with an Evo IV English handbook (uncommon) and full workshop manual.

It does as with any car of this age it has a few small faults:

· The driver’s seat side bolster is worn from getting in and out of the car (a very common problem).

· A small scratch on the near side, side skirt.

· The heater occasionally clicks a few times when the car is first started or if heater control is changed to a certain setting- the local Mitusbishi dealer said this is a common fault and just the heater motor clicking in to position (does not affect heater operation).

· The folding mirror switch does not work (still adjusts mirror glass with no problem).

Due to the car being an import the digital part of the dash showing the odometer reading measures in KMH but the Speedo due to an interface reads in MPH. The car has covered 104,000kmph this equates to 64,600 miles.

The car is MOT’d until March 2012 and see no reason why it should not pass when this arrives.

The car is of extremely high spec having had many thousands of pounds spent on modifications that it will not disappoint, it is a real head turner and I have never known an Evo IV that sounds, looks or goes as good as this one does.

IMO it looks very tidy, smart mods have been done, a lot of the work you would have done anyway so saves you the bother. The best way to tell buddy is go and take a look at it and see if you can take someone who knows a thing or two or you might.

A goo ad is generally a good sign too, a sign of someone who knows their car and cares about the mods done.

Get it on the road and she how she handles and goes look for the normal car things when you test drive and don't be afraid to ask questions, if he has all the right answers on qew another good sign unless it sounds like he chattin air.

The few probs he has listed isn't cause for concern, it's a used car and without these bits to sort out what would you do with your Sunday's lol

Never heard of the heater clicking on these? Not that it matters, my skyline does it and it doesnt affect it at all. Seat is a common problem. Looks like a good car from the add.
