Just wondering if anyone has problems with thieves braking into there cars or stealing them?
The only reason I am asking this is because I have spoken to quite a few people about evos and this has come up quite a lot ( A lot of car traders say this as well)

If this is correct what systems do you have in your cars apart from a cat1 alarm?

I have had idiots key and try to break into my cars before

On a different note I have sold my rx8 so just looking for the right evo to come up for sale:)

Not sure what evo you're looking at, but I'd worry more about where you live than the car itself. Not being funny...but even X's are cheap as chips these days. An evo won't be stolen to be sold, it might be stolen for a joy ride, but yoofs would rather steal your neighbour's RS6. As for being stolen to order, aint going to happen. Your worst case is someone stealing it for an armed robbery (fast, 4 doors, seats 5 adults) but if you're car-jacked then just give it up, it's not worth your life. I've had evos for 10 years and not had a single incident.

Im the same, i normally take my van shopping to avoid parking next to people...

At the end of the day if someone wants your car there gonna have it or at least give it a good try..
All you can do is prevent or prolong it enought till you get out there an stop them or put them of even trying to steal it...

Cat 1 alarm/amobilise is always a good start, some sort of stearing wheel lock or gear stick lock work as a good teterent as it could make the time longer to take car..
If you park near a wall turn the wheels inwards towards wall so it can't be towed easerly..
I park my van infront of the car close, so if they want the car they gotta move the van first, 2tone van is not easy to push lol..
Make sure car is under a street light at nite or if on a drive you have security lights, it all works as a deterent as they dont really wanna been seen trying to get into your car..

Thanks for all your feedback my area is not too bad, there's about 4 blue subaru's near me within 1/2 a mile and they haven't had any problems. Just wanted to make sure they weren't getting stolen like the Escort Cosworths were in the 90's

Insurance isn't too bad as I have been quoted £630 8000 miles, age 31, 8 years no claims, in a locked garage - so my area can't be too bad! :)

I am after an red, black or blue Evo 8/9 got about £12,500 to spend and could add a little more if the right car came along. Looking for around 50k miles if possible.

Has anyone fitted a fuel cut off switch to there car? As this might give me a bit of piece of mind when it's in the garage overnight. (My garage is alarmed too)
