i have an evo 8 and was wondering what this system is for and can it be removed, and is it it just a simple case of blocking of all the pipe work.

It's an egr system. Yea it can all be removed but advise a remap to check fueling after.

how does it help ? it ma be worth keeping

it is yea as it allows air into intake/exhaust which lights the fuel and causes the bang

I removed mine awhile back..blocked up the manifold,

Was good someone had cross threaded one of the threads!!
