rubbing noise???

Hi i have an evo 4 and have just replaced the rear diff, but i am still getting a rubbing noise from the rear passenger side but i cant see anything wrong anywhere, is there a common problem with these or does anyone have any ideas what this could be please?

Is it a constant noise?
Is it a low down contant rumble or a higher whine?
Is it more pronounced in corners or when going fast?
Anything else you can think of?

hi nick and thanks for the welcome, the noise is only when cornering and is at pretty much anyspeed, but it doesnt tend to do it when i first start driving the car, it starts 5 - 10 mins after, i have replaced a bush on the wishbone thinking that was the prob as it was knackered but its still doing it and i cant see anything wrong, i am wondering if it could be the wheel bearing but there is no noise on a straigh road, i am stumped!

Wheel bearing was my first though. It could be that it is only just starting to wear out.
Ive one going and its perfectly silent when not loaded but a bumpy road or a bit of cornering and its very noticable.
But they are quite a distinctive rumble rather than a rub.
I would see if there is anyone in a local knowledgable garrage you could take out for a listen.

thanks for the tips guys ill take it apart this week and have a closer look, i have got a price of 125 for both sides delivered so not too much of an expensive job if it is, my dad also suggested maybe a warped brake disc so ill look into that also

i have the same thing. when i corner hard or have any weigh in the back i get rubbing. happens on both sides. i know my bushes need doin but have no other ideas.

Hi had the same problem with mine it was the anti yaw control pump which was replaced that had also affected the diff which has also had to be replaced .
