Some advice requested please.
My son has just bought an Evo 4 GSR (standard, apart from an Induction Kit) and intends to prepare it for circuit racing. He has already raced a Mark II Golf GTi for a season and a half in the SEMSEC Saloon and Sports Car Championship - the Golf having already had a roll cage fitted when purchased, which passed the race scrutiny procedure.
Looking on various web-sites (eg., Custom Cages, Caged Manufacturing Ltd, Safety Devices) costs for the cage seem to be around £600 to £750 range (incl. VAT) plus possible professional labour cost of fitting (? £500 ?). For an international standard Evo IV fitted cage, CC quote £2000!!!!!!!
Does the above seem the right order of cost or do fellow members know of a cheaper (but still FIA approved) source, preferably in the south or west of England?
