what is torque setting for arp con rod bolts?also has sump got a gasket cannot seem to find any listed ?many thanks

hi buddy
mine where 26lb torque using the special lube supplyed . this info is from the instruction sheet that came with the bolts :O) part num 107-6002 / 1076022 /1994 on

and no gasket you have to use instant stuff , i use locktite 5699 grey high performance , sell it in halfords i think

Quick tip for the Sump bolts, no torque but there are 2 or 3 that are shorter than others don't do the same as me and put a long bolt in short hole and strip the threads, I had to retap it with a new bolt loads of hassle

many thanks for that,just thinking about doing them before remap as it will be running about 350 after remap hopefully

thanks fq-craigus good tip :O)

oil pan / sump should be 7nm :O) and the baffle plate if fitted inside are 22nm

the 2 short bolts are at the front near bottom pulley if i remember ?? make a note of where they come from


.good idea to change them but didnt you get new bolts with instructions and lube ???

ha ha havnt bought bolts yet,camskill are doing them for forty quid didnt know they came with torque settings.just trying to do me homework before i buy parts and do the job i.e.the two short bolts i am now aware of.many thanks again chaps!

if your staying with the standard conrods then I woldn't bother fitting uprated rod bolts, still haven't heard proof of standard rod bolts failing (other than wives tales)

how do sponners,thinking about that one myself never heard of any bolts failing .just heard afew people recommend it when running about 350 with a 6.only had car about 7 weeks and its only used wkends (its reims blue).had impreza before running 320bhp/320lbft great car but no way would i go back to the old rollerskake!

yah thats it mate, I got a 6 (theres a couple of pics of it on here somewhere)

not sure what power its running but its quick enough for these welsh hills lol.

no need to waste your time and money, plus disturbing the bottom end. All failed rods ive seen have had the rod bolts fully intact, they don't snap.
