Hey folks need some help, I had my engine re-built due to a piston melting inside cylinder 1, scored the bore and cracked the piston. I had a rebore done, new forged pistons rings bearings etc, had the car rebuilt, and when I got it back after 1000 miles running it in and taking every bit of care it's back in the garage. Something has happened to it and not sure what so looking for advice.
My piston in number 1 has not been damaged but the rod is really stiff on the gudgeon pin and doesn't move unless force is applied, my rod has damaged the big end shells and on one side of the shell it's worn down and scored the crank. Mechanic says never seen it happen doesn't know why it's happened, but thinks there has been a slight bend in the rod that's caused it. May be a fuel problem from the injector on cylinder 1, or maybe oil starvation to the cylinder as well. Been told a few things and was all meant to be checked first time round and I paid for a problem resolve and rebuild. It is getting fixed at no charge for labour but I've had to pay for parts. Not happy with this but I made a fuss about it yesterday and now is trying to shift the blame so I'm biting my Tongue. Is there anyone that can explain what could have caused this to happen not just once but twice on same cylinder? Any help would be great. Thanks folks
