removing the steering wheel

Wanting to put a new steering wheel on my evo 8,I took the bolt out of each side which released the horn,then took the cover off from the bottom and there seems to be loads of things to undo but half of them I can't get to,any help would be apreciated,I don't wana do it the hard way especialy at santa pod.

right mate uve got to be carefull what your doing here!i havent done it myself but ive heard that you can interfere with the ayc by doing this so dont do anything rash until you have spoken to someone whos done it themselves with no troubles

Dont forget once you got the airbag unit out. make sure the road wheels are dead straight forward. Take the keys out the ignition and let the sterring wheel lock engage.

Remove the centre bolt/nut and replace. But only do it if you know what your doing.

if you look ontop of the steering wheel you will see there is alan key bolts holing the steering wheel on.. you dont need to remove the horn to remove the steering wheel :)

Haha,cheers john,ye they we're the first ones I took out,couldn't see what they'd released till I put em back in.I do believe I was talkin about u the day before cumin on here,cnt remember the lads name but he'd just signed up on the ccuk forum,got talkin about the ayc n that I need a oil preasure switch off one,he said I should ring u.

Not yet el,I had another look on my dinner break but couldn't see any bolts on top of the steerin wheel jus the one at either side,ill have a proper look over the weekend.
