Well my Evo 4 was stolen a few weeks ago, got it back now. Time to fix it.

I have a second hand ignition that i want to install, but the bolts dont have anyway to remove them (allen key, screw driver dont work) These are the bolts that go around the steering arm holding ignition in place.

The second hand one has what looks like grinder marks on them so a screw driver would work, i dont really want to do this.

What tool will get these out?

No no that all wrong. The barrel itself should come out of the actual casting itself by either punching in a pin or very small screw. Then with the key in turn it to the first acc position and the barrel should just slide out.

I need to replace the WHOLE ignition system, not just the barrel. The low life that done it some how has bent the key insert part right down (pretty thick metal)

Pretty bad pic's but should understand what i mean. second pic is the new ignition i got

I see. You'll probably have to go to Mitsi cos the bolts that hold most barrels on are bolted up using sheer bolts so the head snap off once they are tightened.

I've got a mechanic minded friend who is looking into a cheap solution for me, possibly take the wheel off and slide the ignition off, which looks like it MAY work

cant really afford going to a dealer. got to renew the evo and my motorbikes rego and warrant next month (about 2500 right there) and these damn christmas holidays, bank accounts getting thin
