Removing catch cans and auxillary tanks

Jonny - keep the PS fluid IN the system as much as you can, it will save a LOT of effort trying to get the air out when you re-install it later which is how most pumps end up dying.

EEEEEEEK bit late now ive drained it but i used a turkey baster and i found that i can get the baster inside the hose and it makes a decent tenough seal so I may be able to prime the pump a little before I start it up again.

Theyre all off and packed away along with a few more bits and pieces to be done

As I said above I wanted to resituate my catch can but im struggling if anyone has any ideas of where to put the lil bugger in a IX then please let me know its a Spec-r can btw.....

from tank and a baster full out of one of the pipe out of the pump...but as the baster fits the pipe im going to squirt as much back down pipe as poss then attach to can and fill leave gravity to do some of the job then idle car and leave cap off turning left to right on wheel and it should be ok from what ive read on other forums ....???


I may have a go at de-tango my front lights too while the car is off the road

its normal just to empty the tank then just tie the pipes up high so they dont leak

There was still fluid leaking from pipe so they are taped up mate

I'll start a new thread for bumper and head lights as I here your the man to ask on this winkle !

I saw these over the road and they look evil so I may just rip my lights out and send them to you then lol

Do I need to paint the whole reflector ? Surely it screws up the light and also shall I use a Matt black paint ?

Send them down if you want mate.

It's fairly issue to do as long as you know what to do.
Damn right you paint the whole lot, that's best. I also done the ones on my mates silver IX which you had pics of not long back.

It's just a sparkley crappy plastic bit mate which has no effect on the lights as you don't paint the important bits. Bit of fiddly masking off round the base of the indicator and side light bulbs ensures they still give off plenty of light and bobs your uncle

Bumper and lights out in the hour easy job so far now for the heat gun!
