I'm thinking

Coilovers
Big brakes
Roll cage
Strip it ....

Track it...BREAK IT! :)

The equivalent cage for the 7-9 is more comprehensive as well. I was a bit gutted when I got mine tbh!

I think you should just get coilovers and brakes tho. Your too much of a polishing geek to get serious about track stuff lol.

Once you fitted a cage you enter into a completely different zone of car! You will find selling the car in the future difficult! My personal view is once they are stripped out and cage etc people seem to automatically think they have been smashed up hill and down dale and seem only to make their money back via breaking! If i was to go down the route of fitting a cage again in a high performance car i would put the whole interior back in around the cage!

I agree. I've kept every bit of my interior so it can go back to standard if needs be. The only thing I'd have to do is cut the cage mounts out.

I know if I got into it, I'd be skint as I would want the best of everything
Even if I didn't actually need it, hence why I want a big spec car
It's a willy waving thing....:)

And tom I'm not a geek thanks.

Not ruining it and when I asked people opinions it was only going to be very low milage rs's that are guna be worth anything.

I'm not arsed either way. If someone decided a this is a classic in the future when it's rusty n shit they'll pay 5k for the shell like they do old escorts lol.

Really need some motivation again to get this finished. I've kind of lost momentum with having to go to work.

Still cba but I'm cracking on. Time to get the block cleaned out. An engineer friend is coming round tonight with his micrometers etc so we might have a short block by tomorrow!

Hi all,

Got a bit of an update for you all.

Havnt got much done in the last week or so. This was due mainly to going back to work and being a cba face when I got home. I also had a bit of a wobble on the whole project as I thought my block was knackered, but turns out it's good!

I have, however got the cage in! Here's a quick pic I took last night just after I'd finished bolting it all up. Note to self, fitting a cage ideally requires 2 people.

Future plans will probably include painting the inside as it looks a bit crap where I've painted the bare metal feet.

Anyway, here's a quick pic of the cage, taken at 11.30 on a school night! Please excuse the mess and lack of more pics, my phone also died!
