Hey guys/galls looking for your views which way to go with my engine. If you did'nt already know mine is currently blown up. Bare minimum I would need a short motor as I think the turbo and head are alright.

My question would be do I try and source a good low mileage complete lump either 4,5,6,7,8 and do small mods to make it complete and working in my car. Or .... do i try and find a cheap block, pull it apart and rebuild using new pistons, rods, gaskets etc. A few ideas on prices and your opioins would be great. Time scale does not matter now as it will be off the road this year. I would be doing the work myself with the help of a few friends.

Cheers Steve

personal opinion is try and get a 8 engine they fit straight in, avoid the 4 engines it all depends how far you want to go most 6 7 or 8 engines will handle 400 bhp if mapped right

Source out a low mile good condition 8mr engine, much stronger than an evo 4 one as crankwalk is this engine's main issue, the 8mr head has better oil and water passages as well.
