first actual vent made up and test fitted.

went quite well after a few tweeks. couple more tweeks tomorrow then mesh to stop the bugs getting in

They are made up of 3 layers. The centre one sits higher than the other 2 so it sits up inside the grove in the window rubber. This then also means there is a grove formed at the bottom edge for the glass to go up into.
The centre layer is also wider than the other 2 so it sits in the grove up the sides where the glass runs

do you leave em in all the time? ive seen em before but never though about it, can yoiu cover the holes or do you have to take em out

I wouldn't say that leaving them in is as secure as a closed window but then how secure is a piece of glass ??! Not very

The holes will be covered with a black mesh to stop bugs getting in
It will be sandwiched inbetween 2 of the layers

I always wanted a set of these for my IX but there have been a couple of occassions when out driving where I've put the rear windows down by mistake when meaning to do the front ones lol, so I dont think they'd last long on mine :blush:

Are they not wedged in place? I do the same thing and put the wrong windows down and would be gutted to lose all that hard work I paid lee to do do for me on the m1 lol

They are the same width as the glass so fit snug inside the window rubbers.
