I don't know what to suggest I've just been browsing for 8 rsends as well and most are jdm or US but if it was my car I would be looking at sitting it flush to the bumper.

Cheers for all your help Nick. I tried Dave this afternoon but just missed him, so out the blue decided to try Exeter Mitsubishi. Spoke to the parts manager who actually was really helpful !!! He even emailed me a page from their parts catalogue showing the rear bumper parts to try and identify what I might need. The bracket I have on mine is the only one shown on the 8, so it looks like I either have to stick it on as I did before, or as you suggested, cut the bracket off and stick it directly to the bumper. Will get the new plate made up later in the week and make a decision then.

Thanks for all the feedback and help, really appreciate it ;)

No worries mate, so there isn't a holder for it then?

I would have put money on it that there was, but according to the parts catalogue page he sent me, there isnt a part listed for anything additional to what I already have...

The bracket you can see in my pics is 64522, and that is factory spot welded into place. I guess I either have to drill the plate and screw it into that bracket or cut the bracket off and stick it to the bumper. Just seems a poor design for something so basic

Bracket 64522 looks just like the one I removed from my VII when I took the square plate off. Sure it was just bolted on though and here is a pic af what I was left with if you can make it out to be the same as yours or not ??

My plate was stuck straight to bumper skin and this is what's behind it

Finally spoke to Dave@ears and he said that the bracket is bolt on for 7s , welded on 8s. Unfortunately, the only bracket he knows of that he can supply is the bolt on one for 7s which backs up what the Mitsi dealer said.

So, guess it is either drill the plate and screw it on or cut the bracket off.
