Need to change my N/S/R wheel bearing as its dead, had to change the front one awhile ago and was a nightmare hub would not pull of Cv joint, so in the end had to cut Cv joint off the driveshaft to put the new wheel hub on and replaced Cv joint.

Now by the looks of it the back is going to be the same(balls lol) so i cant be a**ed with the muck around so was thinking of undoing the hub from everything apart from the driveshaft, then going to replace wheel hub assy with a new one and a new driveshaft, so need to know what im up for when removing the driveshaft from the car, does ayc need to be bled stuff like this and easy way to remove

Cheers peeps

What evo is it? I've never had an issue getting them off before :( try removing the nut from the drive shaft, spray WD40 down the spline, give it a few hours and give it a tap with a lump hammer, it should hopefully budge it :)

It's a IV, I tried that on the front one but the end flowered and thats why i had to cut the Cv joint off, i took the old one into work to press the cv joint out the hub, i wanted to strip down the bearing to see if was possible to rebuild the bearing hub rather than pay 170 quid, it took 5.3 tons of pressure to push the old cv out lol no way was that coming off with a hub puller or copper hammer on the car, splines were welded together. Just cant be bothered this time, so just going to change the shaft at the same time as you cant buy a outer cv for the rear

You can put up to 20 tons on these things and they won't budge :( It needs shock unfortunately.
