Rear Arb talk to me....

Hi all contemplating an updated rear arb for the V :awesome:

Had one on my scoob and was great.

Iv noticed there's two options of thickness 22mm and 24mm both adjustable

My question, which one should I get? Suspension is set up for fast road/track use and I'm off to the ring in sept.

The other thing I want to know is will the car need updated mounts if I go for the 24mm? I remember the scoob needed them to fit the 24mm.

white line arb came with poly bushes , standard mounts have been just fine :O)

my car is now set at
-1.5 camber front
-1.3 camber rear
-2 toe out front
+2 toe in rear
mid seting arb rear .
36 psi front
32 psi rear
205 /45 / 17


great turn in , slight over steer :O) when pushed

It's really good, sharper turn in as it feels the back end wants to follow.

Got the 24mm one and have it on the 24mm (middle) setting and it feels spot on.

If you see this, can I ask about your tyre pressures. How come you have them that way round hard at the front soft at the rear? Very high too?

tyre pressures my e 4 should run around

2.2 bar" 32psi front and 1.9 bar 28 psi going by the sticker on the door shut .

and standard tyre size should be

205 / 50 / 16 .

im running e6 wheels with 205 / 45/17 and running the standard pressure's was wearing the inner and outter edges " i think this is due to the lower profile and the narrow tyre on a 7.5j rim "

so have played with the pressures to get the best from the handling and tyre wear .


you are probably running 225/45/17 ??? what pressures are you running :O)

Ahhh they sound more like it, I read your earlier post as 36 front 32 back.

Not messed about yet, just running an even 32 all round.

So am I wrong to think with your tyre pressures you would induce understeer having softer rears?

I'm here to learn, hence the q's lol :razz:

yes having softer rears help keep the back a little more stable " esp in the wet " not saying my set up will work for any one else as we all have different driving styles .

i like the car to oversteer but only when i want it to :O)

Great links! Thanks for those. Some serious tinkering with set ups before the ring trip in sept :razz:

Just need to figure the BC's out with their damping settings. There's no numbers on them so not really sure what they are on

Will dig out the geo settings too to see what you think.

im no expert but would start in a mid setting and go from there one end at a time till your happy .

pop up a post for handling tips im sure some of the racers/ track day drivers will be glad to help

I meant there's no numbers on the shockers to judge what they are on.

I went to adjust them and they just kept turning, but from what I've read the will click quite a few times until they hit either max soft or hard. I'm just used to the Gab coilovers I used to have with just 4 settings!

just count the clicks or mark the adjuster and count how many full turns from stop to stop and half it
