Rattling noise

got this really annoying engine rattle, been told its something in the turbo, possibly a washer. Is it expensive to get these reconditioned or to buy 2nd hand

Who told you it was coming from the turbo???

no smoke but gettin black deposits, but think thats due to the possible overfueling??

does the noise get better or stop when the car is hot?


sounds like the wastegate penny, not really an issue....other than rattle

think you have to replace the hotside on the turbo, although I suppose it could be repaired.

doesnt really change at all

however it is better than it used to

i originally thought it was one of the crappy tin exhaust shields but took them all of and stiil did it!:wtf:

Agreed!

You might be better off replacing the turbo and repairing the hot side later on as the repair costs etc. tend to only be cheaper by a little.
