You've probably not got the amplifier wire connected. I had the same problem and tried a new Ariel, but it was this wire,
Blue wire I think and is joined to the ariel wire behind the dash,
Mine was snipped off and was short and hard to spot
Now alls well

Hi. My radio is crap too. It picks up stations but loses signal quite a lot. Am I right in thinking I've already got a booster and my aerial is just rubbish?

Thanks

Edit: actually after looking again, would the booster go inline with the wire I've already got there and I need to splice it into that power lead, or does it looked like that's the booster?

Thanks

Got problem sorted, the white block in above pic needs a 12v supply.
Thanks

I don't mean to doubt you, but why would there be a place to plug it into the harness if it doesn't do anything? Also assuming you are right, any idea where to pinch the power from?

Ok sorry for doubting you. I just whipped out the stereo and the plug that's there isn't getting any power for some reason but the bullet adapter is getting 12v just like you said. Why on earth that other plug is even there I have no idea but who cares.

Thanks

Nope, receptions still not great, but I did find an earth on the harness that wasn't attached to anything, so I attached that to the headunit screw (assuming that's an ok earth) and hopefully that will sort it.

I know I've made the last 2 posts but I'm a believer in finishing threads so I will make my final update. It would appear that my aerial is just shit. Changing from that white power supply which it turns out was showing 10.5v, to the bullet showing just under 12v has definitely made it better but it still breaks up a bit. I even bought the booster off eBay and that's even worse than the standard one. I don't know if it will help at all but I've plugged in both boosters because the 12v power supply definitely gave better reception than the 10.5v, so I'm now going with the top gear approach of MORE POWER! Hopefully it works, who knows...

I'd check the wiring to the rear screen, as the top part of the heated screen is for the Ariel
