So im in the middle of buying a koyo rad for my IX....

Im looking at a 5 rad as they will fit (ive been told) but I will need a new rad pipe the straight version with no bends and a slimline fan

However I also wanted the alloy rad pipe and I have ordered one for a IX as I didnt know this koyo would come up for sale

Now shall I bite the bullet and get a IX rad and keep the hose or change the hose to fit the 5 rad ??

Just wondering if the rad is the same spec for a 5 or a 9 and will I gain lose anything doing this ??

main reason for fitting a 5/6 rad into a 7/8/9 is as you say to have the straighter top hose. thing is the 7/8/9 one runs quite close to aftermarket exhaust manifolds, not a problem for you at the moment but should you change it for a full race one or simular then you will wish you fitter the earlier rad.

nick has a full race manifold fitted and a earlier rad so have a look at his pics for comparison :)

um, im not sure. thought the slim fans were just for people with big turbo kits which have 4" intake pipes. im sure nick will be able to tell us if not the ant will :)
