Just a quickie, is it possible to take out the gearbox from a V without taking out the engine?

It can be. I did the gearbox on my first 6 on my own in 5 hours I wouldn't do it again, mind, as i sprained my wrist and dropped the gearbox on my leg once. I find it MUCH easier to do with an engine crane
