If anyone has seen the 'How is everyone and their car' thread, you may have seen that my Evo is currently off the road due to a snapped balance belt causing my timing belt to jump a couple of teeth... I dont need to tell you what happened after.
Anyway, now my Dad is back and after having a look at the damage, fortunately all i need are new inlet and exhaust valves :awesome:

My question is where do i or where did any of you buy these valves from?

Adrian

Thanks for the reply Lee.
My Dads a mechanic so he's going to do all the work on it but we're just trying to locate the valves.
Do you know if your friend installed thicker valves into your engine or used the standard valves?
I saw you were waiting for your clutch to arrive, have you got it now?

I appreciate the offer of your friend having a look by the way.

try Cam skills or Chris @ auto torque or ant at indigo gt. Sure one of these will help you with parts if cam skill don't sell them.. :)

If I were you I would just source another head and bang it straight on, and sell your head, someone will buy it to do up and sell on or maybe use.

Thanks for recommendations/advice guys.
I managed to source the valves from Indigo GT so hopefully will have my 6 back on the road soon.

Have u removed pistons from bores? I hand same thing happen on my 5 but it acually snapped cam belt to as i was on track at the time!
How ever when i stripped engine i had bent all 16 valves, but when i took pistons out the impact of them hitting valves had caused 3 out of 4 pistons to have cracked rings!!! I too though i could repair the head and fix but decided to do a forged build as i had it apart anyway!
Might be worth checking if you haven't already!! Hope you get it sorted soon as i know how frustrating it is not being able to use your evo! :)

Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't going near enough as fast as you were lol I was going no more than 15mph round a roundabout when this happened but i guess checking won't hurt just in case. Better to be safe than sorry.
Had another look at the valves and its only the inlet valves which have bent.
Should be back on road end of next week, parts are all ordered :D

A bit of thread revival here... So i have my 6 back on road now (Woo!)
Drives well and had no problems UNTIL today :( AYC light came on, checked the codes and got 41 and 82 which I'm aware is either the switch or the pump itself (Not so woo).
I know I can drive with an 'open diff' but, and i will sound uneducated within the Evo world, does that mean i will be only FWD and not 4WD?
