Just wanted to know if ne1 out here change the turbo elbows when going from 2.5 inch bore to 3 inch bore as I checked out exhausts and noticed they go from 3 inch bore to 2.5 inch at the botom of the turbo to fit the elbow??? How effective is changing the elbow cause it's becoming a bit of a problem for my upgrade and I'm in two minds shall I do it? Is it worth it? Also realised that to do alot of mods like induction kit exhaust you can bolt on a bigger turbo to get the same power. Price of exhaust system turbo back £900-£1100 and price of bigger turbo £700. Which is the best mod to go for?

Some Down Pipes have a stock specification on the flange but there are many out there that do not.

It all depends on how much you want to spend.

There are some great used items available out there, you just need to search for them buddy.

Which Evo do you own???

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR USER PROFILE TO INCLUDE YOUR LOCATION.

you need to take it to a specialest mate, a proper one by the sound of it cos all that should be able to be done in a day no problem.

if you update your location then we can advise where to take you car :)

You would benefit by updating your User Profile to include your Location buddy.

For all we know, you could be in Ireland or in mainland Europe.

We could be just throwing suggestions your way that would not feasible due to you having to travel a hell of a long way to have work done that could have been carried out cheaper locally.

where are you based?

This will hlp us help you find a decent tuner/garage nearby.

Also I maybe wrong but if you just bolt on a bigger turbo I think that can stress other internals. So usual approach is exhaust, induction, map on standard internals which should see you around the 400bhp mark.

After that you are looking at bigger turbo which in turn comes with uprates internals such as rods/injectors etc to keep it all safe. However, I am still learning so I may be wrong!!

Speak to MA developments.

I am looking for around 400/400 myself. I am told this can be done on standard manifold with a full 3" exhaust system, induction kit, 255L fuel pump and a re-map.

So I suggest this is a good starting point.

If you looking for 400+ then that's where the big bucks start to kick in;
uprated turbo, rod, pistons, injectors, quality tubualr manifold etc.

Speak to MA developments, tell them what you are aiming for and they will put a proposition your way.

In short though you should be able to get to 400bhp or very close on standard turbo and internals.

As for Elbow, I have been looking into this too. It's just a question of what comes with the DP, either mated to the original elbow or an uprated one included. I think it is a little restrictive but ask MA what they recommend.

When I get round to doing mine I'll let you know what was suggested to me.

Good luck and keep us posted on the upgrades :)
